I also kept vegan for Lent.
This is the 4rth year I've done it. I've found that the habits of veganism have become pretty familiar, that I've solved the puzzles of how to enjoy the things I like by substituting non-animal ingredients. There are certain vegan food items that I really like, but can't justify spending the extra money on when I am not trying to be vegan. These things, like babycakes (http://www.babycakesnyc.com/) and barbecue flavored seitan, have made it so that I look forward to the vegan "fast" almost more than I do to ending it. (Which I greatly enjoyed today with my family, with tons of very un-vegan food, including traditional Hawaiian ham, spam sushi, cheese raviolis, and blueberry ice cream)
Easter has always been my favorite holiday, for various reasons. I like that 1976 years ago, the person I consider my spiritual companion, teacher, and savior, was enjoying His resurrection by playfully appearing and disappearing, surprising His friends, and "opening their minds". (luke 24:45)
