Form and Philosophy

1/27/2006 00:40:54

It is my suspicion that text is the wrong way to do philosophy. Words, and especially blocks of text, and most especially large books are only an interference, an invitation to confusion (I think this is what many authors actually prefer to clarity).

Better philosophy might look more like a computer program than a treatise, perhaps filled with structure, pictures, and geometric shapes meant to convey relationships as clearly as possible. Words should be kept at the minimum, retained more like mathematical variables than semantic objects.
