The New Ziggurat

12/03/2006 12:21:01

ANNOUNCING the new issue of Ziggurat, the journal of religion I helped to start at Brown University, just came out. It looks really great and can be downloaded in full from the website. I have an article in it this time called "Proving What We See with the Eyes of Love," an exploration of the use of proofs in religion.

Hey, congrats Nathan. Is this a rewrite of a paper you did a while ago (I thought it sounded familiar from when I poked around your site when you first gave me the address)? Anyhow, hopefully I'll get a chance to read it in full soon, just after I finish writing for 200A, eh?

Yeah, that's right, I should have noted that the original piece is in the Papers section of this site. Actually, I had to do quite a bit of cutting for the Ziggurat version, so the one on this site is actually more complete and slightly longer.

I wrote this over the summer after getting enthralled with Iris Murdoch's discussion of St. Anselm's proof in her Metaphysics as a Guide to Morals.
